We start with the commons. What do we need to share?
For most of our human history, the commons meant the area where we
lived, hunted, and gathered. Then came the agricultural revolution. We
began to live on farms and in villages. Then came crime and warfare, and
we began to live in fear of others.
The strongest criminals became pharaohs, kings, and monarchs. They
ruled from beautiful castles over the vassals of the commons. Eventually a
King (Croesus) invented money (coinage), and it got easier and easier for
the King to centralize the resources of the vassals living in the commons.
He no longer needed to force the vassals to bring him cattle, grain, and
boys to train as soldiers.
Centralization of resources, and warfare, continue to this day. Big
countries gobble up the resources of small countries in our global economy.
In our modern world, the only real actual resource is money. Money (paper
coinage) is the resource which makes acquisition of all other resources
possible. Money is now the resource sought after by everyone. Money is
the centralized resource which makes governments, warfare, corporations,
and everything else possible. The bottom line?
Centralized money is THE problem. We need to decentralize the
money, thereby decentralizing the resource that gives us warfare and
economic inequality. We need a world P2P economic system. We need
the structure of a decentralized financial world, not the current capitalist
structure of inequality. How do we get that structure? We share the money
by decentralization. When we share the money, we are sharing the
commons. Defy with DeFi!
